Campbell Johnson Design Ltd is a boutique design practice based in Christchurch, New Zealand specialising in tailored and branded environments.

The company provides Interior Design solutions across all industry sectors including: hospitality, workplace, corporate, retail, residential and experiential.

Founder Campbell Johnson, is a qualified and very experienced Interior Designer with more than 16 years New Zealand and international design industry experience.

Early on in his career, Campbell was fortunate to work for some of New Zealand’s leading commercial design companies, focusing predominantly on retail and corporate interior design projects. It was during this time he became fascinated in how brands are interpreted within their environments and the impact this has on design. This fuelled his passion for tailored and branded environments – effectively bringing brands to life through clever and exceptional design.

Campbell saw an opportunity to extend his design and experiential skills further by working with various major New Zealand and international advertising and brand design agencies offering branded environments as a key service. In these roles, he has been able to offer valuable insight in to the significance environment plays in overall brand building success.

In 2012 and after 10 years away, a move back to Campbell’s hometown of Christchurch allowed the opportunity to start his own practice, maintaining a loyal and broad client base both nationally and globally whilst establishing himself within the local market.

A number of residential interior design projects has offered Campbell the opportunity to tailor skills honed over the years to create spaces of a more personal nature. The principles around brand building and cohesive design remain the same within a residential space. Campbell excels in working with residential clients to understand their personality and aesthetic and then create an environment that is reflective of this.
